Ceramics at RVCC introduces students to basic theory and practice involved in the forming and processing of clay from its raw state to the finished art object. Student learn to a hand build, throw on a potters wheel, glaze application, glaze making and ceramic firing techniques. Advanced students study the practice of glaze chemistry and formulation. The studio offers both electric and gas kilns.  They also have numerous Raku kilns.
